Western Clydesdales to Host Inspiring Evening with FDNY Firefighter James Dowdell

The Western Clydesdales are excited to welcome internationally recognised speaker and active FDNY firefighter James Dowdell to Toowoomba this June for a special evening centred around resilience, leadership and connection.

Taking place at Oaks Hotel Toowoomba on Friday, June 5, the event will bring together members of the community, business leaders, sporting clubs and professionals for a night that promises to be both inspiring and impactful.

James’ story is one that has touched audiences around the world. After losing his father - a New York City firefighter who tragically lost his life during the events of 9/11, James chose to follow in his footsteps and dedicate his own life to public service. Through his keynote, “Stay the Course,” he shares honest and powerful lessons on overcoming adversity, staying grounded through difficult times and finding strength through unity.

Drawing on both his personal experiences and his career as a firefighter in New York City, James speaks openly about resilience, leadership and navigating life’s challenges with purpose and determination. His message has resonated with audiences globally and continues to inspire people from all walks of life.

The evening will also feature a special Q&A with Ben and Shane Walker, hosted by Channel 9’s Ben Dobbin, adding another unique element to what is shaping up to be a memorable night for the Toowoomba community.
