Published Wed 18 Sep 2024

Last Sunday at Gold Park, the Western Clydesdales community witnessed an exciting display of rugby league talent as 138 boys and girls participated in the Under 16 Clydesdales Challenge, vying for a coveted spot in the 2025 Cyril Connell Cup and Harvey Norman 17s squads. The event brought together players from across our three hubs—Toowoomba, Warwick & District, and Roma & District — underscoring the depth of talent within our region.

The day was filled with highly competitive games played in the right spirit, reflecting the core values of the Western Clydesdales. The players showcased their skills, determination and sportsmanship, which not only entertained the spectators but also strengthened the culture and commitment to our development pathways.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the players for their hard work and dedication, the parents and families for their unwavering support and the referees for ensuring the smooth running of the day. Your collective efforts continue to enhance the Western Clydesdales' commitment to nurturing future rugby league stars.

As we look forward to announcing the final squads, we remain excited about the talent emerging from our South-West Queensland communities and are confident that these young athletes will contribute significantly to the future success of the Western Clydesdales. Thank you to everyone who made the day a memorable one.
