QRL and Cluch launch QPlus.tv for 2023

Queensland Rugby League and streaming provider Cluch have again teamed up to deliver an exclusive streaming platform to increase the accessibility of rugby league across Queensland and unlock extra revenue streams for clubs in 2023.

The platform - QPlus.tv - enjoyed huge success during the 2022 season, livestreaming more than 440 games with about 3.2 million minutes watched by more than 20,000 users.

QPlus.tv is the streaming home of QRL this year, featuring all statewide competition matches including all Hostplus Cup, BMD Premiership, Hastings Deering Colts, Auswide Bank Mal Meninga Cup, Harvey Norman Under 19 Girls and Cyril Connell Challenge games.

The platform will offer users access to live matches, replays and round highlights.

There are three subscription offerings in annual, monthly or a weekend ‘round’ passes which start from $6.99; the first round of every statewide competition will be free to view for all new subscribers to the platform. A share of the revenue raised from subscriptions, as well as advertising, will be distributed to clubs and leagues who feature on QPlus.tv.

“We’re really pleased to be able to deliver a streaming platform to the Queensland rugby league community again in 2023, enabling people to stay connected with their club from wherever they are around the state or the country,” QRL chief executive officer Rohan Sawyer said.

“Just as we looked out of the woods with COVID-19, we had the floods last year, so we’re proud to be able to find unique ways to unlock revenue streams for clubs involved.”

Cluch managing director Gus Seeback said “we’re delighted to extend our partnership with QRL and again be powering QPlus.tv throughout 2023”.

“Last year’s inaugural season proved hugely popular with fans across Queensland and Australia turning in to watch live matches and replays in unprecedented numbers,” Seeback said.

“Having every statewide competition game in once central platform provides a world-class user experience across every screen along with increased reach and engagement for every competition.

“We very much look forward to helping showcase the best in local QRL talent to communities right across the country.”
