Hutchinson Builders get behind Clydesdales as Principal Partner

Efforts to build the Western Clydesdales into a Hostplus Cup force have received a massive boost with Hutchinson Builders signing up as the club’s Principal Partner for its return to the Queensland Cup.

Hutchinson Builders, Australia’s largest privately-owned construction company, will be Principal Partner of the Clydesdales for the next three years as the Toowoomba-based club returns to the Hostplus Cup in 2023.

The partnership was announced today at Hutchinson Builders’ Mylne Street project in Toowoomba, and featured a special throwback jersey combining the club’s current branding with a design from the 1990s.

This important partnership will support the Clydesdales as they build a competitive Hostplus Cup club and provide opportunities for talented rugby league players across south-west Queensland to chase their dreams at the elite level.

Western Clydesdales Commercial Manager Fraser Hess is thrilled the club has partnered with a strong and respected organisation like Hutchinson Builders, who have supported rugby league in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs for the past 10 years.

“I’m really excited about Hutchies coming on board as our Principal Partner for the next three years as they have a proud 110-year history of building strong structures,” Hess said.

“We’re working hard to build a strong Hostplus Cup club and this support from such a highly-regarded leader in the construction industry is an incredible vote of confidence in what we’re doing.

“I want to thank Sean Lees, Peter Lee and the Hutchies team for getting behind us. I can’t wait for the Clydesdales to build something really special with Hutchies.”

Hutchinson Builders construct projects in numerous states, but their heart is well and truly in Queensland.

“We’re really proud to be a part of the Western Clydesdales as the Principal Partner,” Hutchinson Builders’ Team Leader Toowoomba Sean Lees (pictured) said.

“We’re proud to be involved and we’re excited to see how the boys go.

"A lot of people will remember the Toowoomba Clydesdales days and we're certainly excited to see the local community have a team in the Hostplus Cup."
