The Western Clydesdales Rugby League Football Club proudly represents the heart and spirit of South-West Queensland. With deep roots in a region known for its resilience, passion and unwavering love for rugby league, we continue to build on a rich legacy that dates back over a century.

Our Journey

In 2023, the Western Clydesdales marked a triumphant return to the Hostplus Cup, reigniting pride and passion across our communities. This milestone was more than just a return to the field; it was a statement of our commitment to nurturing the rugby league dreams of players, fans and the wider community throughout South-West Queensland.

Building on this momentum, 2024 saw the Clydesdales join the BMD Premiership, further expanding our footprint in elite rugby league and opening new pathways for the development of women’s rugby league across our region.

Pathways for Future Stars

Our commitment to developing talent runs deep, with four junior representative programs dedicated to identifying and nurturing the next generation of rugby league stars. Through our South-West Queensland Pathways, we offer structured development opportunities that span from grassroots to elite levels, ensuring every young athlete has a clear route to pursue their rugby league ambitions.

The Western Clydesdales have also established a comprehensive development program that goes beyond the field. We focus on fostering quality individuals as well as talented players. By embedding our core values of Honour, Enthusiasm, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork (HEART) into everything we do, we create an environment where players can grow both personally and professionally.
